We are often asked where can school-age children "do" theatre in English in Luxembourg.

Here is our collection of contacts, information and suggestions. If you know of others, please contact us via the website so we can add them in.

English language theatre groups:   for all the following groups, although we work in English, we are open to all nationalities.

BGT : we produce one large-scale show every one or two years, and depending on the script we may need younger actors. This was the case with Jane Eyre in 2010, and Little Women in 2014. Casting is based on public auditions, which will be announced on the website and Facebook page. We do not run drama courses.

New World Theatre Club (NWTC)   runs a Youth theatre, and also may cast younger actors depending on the production, for example the upcoming production of Oh What a Lovely War.  The NWTC youth theatre is extremely popular, and is regularly oversubscribed.  NWTC also runs the successful  Luxembourg European Annual Theatre Summer School, open to anyone aged 16 or above.

Pirates

Pirate Productions a.s.b.l. is an English-speaking musical theatre group based in Luxembourg. They offer a student membership, and may need younger actors depending on the production.

Theatre in schools

The courses we know are only open to students of the school concerned, whether it is part of the curriculum or an after-school activity. BGT Director Tony Kingston runs drama courses at the Lycée Classique Diekirch and Lycée Classique Michel Rodange in Luxembourg, as well as after-school drama groups at the two European schools.

Conservatoire: offers courses in French and German in "diction" and "art dramatique". Minimum age: 14.
